ACHIEVEMENTS

This Is ME is a nonprofit organization that has been working with adolescent and teen girls on the northwest side of Chicago since January 2000. Our mission is to bring adolescent and teen girls together, with the guidance of concerned women, to discover and explore who they are and what they are capable of accomplishing in light of their individual strengths.  Our organization’s core values of Mentorship, Positive Peer Relationships, and Introspection run throughout all of our programming initiatives.

With the invaluable help of our volunteer coalition of concerned women, This Is ME works to achieve our organizational objectives of fostering greater self-esteem, self-expression, and enrichment in a girl’s world. Our personalized programming offers girls a safe space to explore their interests, discover their talents, and choose the kind of women they hope to become.  Given the increasing pressures that young women today face to measure their self worth based on superficial standards and given the shortage of girl serving organizations on the city’s northwest side, This Is ME provides a vital service to those who need and deserve it most.
