How to write your own amazing song lyrics!
Betsy Sobiech, a founding partner of ClearSpace and Tiara International, shared this great writing exercise with us:
Find a quiet place where you can spend 3-5 minutes of reflection and as long as you would like to craft the lyrics. Before you begin number a blank paper 1-20 with a space between every 4 lines (you will end up with 5 stanzas of 4 lines each).
Close your eyes and think about a place that makes you feel your very best – a place that makes you truly happy. Try to be as specific as possible. Where are you? What are you doing? How does it make you feel? Think of one adjective to describe you here in your happy place at your very best.
Now head over to your paper and follow these directions for each line:
1 I am ____________________ (fill in the one adjective you thought of)
2 I _______________________ (fill in where you are)
3 I _______________________ (fill in what you see)
4 (write what you are doing)
5 (repeat line 2)
6 (write how you feel about line 2)
7 (repeat line 4)
